WHAT'S THIS?

Life in this physical dimension is wondrous and extremely diverse.

On a Lighter Note

I recently found three nice flash applets which lets you play with music in interactive ways.

Pianolina

Pianolina

An interactive piano where you can throw notes into a field where they drift along and bounce off the borders and each other. In a way it's like tossing notes onto a billiard table: Pianolina by Gtorian

Dub Selector

A selection of eight sound applets where you can touch or push objects with the mouse to create dub sounds. The Dub Selector #4 (note the list of selectors at the bottom) is in fact a bit like the Pianolina, just with a totally different style of music. I had a lot of fun playing with those: The Dub Selector

Orbit

A funny tool from the Benneton homepage which works based on the principal of a musical clock. You have a rotating disc with eight tracks (one note per track) where you can play sounds on the keyboard to imbue the onto the disc and the player will replay them once the disc has made a full turn. Click here, log in as a guest and either browse the Orbit Gallery (although I found most of the stuff there a bit underwhelming) or play with the prerecorded sound sets.
