Recently on the forum the term filtering through beliefs came up in a discussion about the question what a dimensions is and in an answer I created one of those insights where I gain more clarity just by writing an answer.
Here is an edited version of that post (click here for the full forum thread).
While I was letting Alan's post sink in I see this snippet from Bean and it catches what I was musing and also Seth and the radio station analogy. But the "filtering through beliefs" sort of keyed it together.
Out there is this sea of action, this endless vast bulk of frequencies. And a dimension is nothing different from a focus personality, just a bit wider (okay much wider), more encompassing.
One of my favorite ways of explaining YCYOR is by filtering. Take all the events everybody out there is experiencing. This huge buffet of action, world events, group events, personal events, thoughts, dreams, conversations. Too much for a single human to experience or consume.
They way I create my reality from that is by filtering these in and out, creating my unique set from which I construct py perception, my puzzle or mosaic of life.
It's like my way to work. Every time I walk there I notice different things, some I overlook, some I take in. It's different every time I walk there and a bit more different if I take the bicycle or car.
This simple street with it's houses and gardens and bushes and trees and flowers and fences and animals is indeed a vast energy expression. And every time I take a different subset of that and by doing that I also add to the energy expression (like other people can or can not observe me walking there).
In a way, this vast energy of that street is filtered through my personally adopted, activated and preferred beliefs. I can't perceive it all, so I sort in and out what is meaningful in that moment. I'm sure it could be constructed into an entirely different picture, even if another person could follow in my exact footsteps, even if they followed the exact move of my eyes. Which of course nobody can.
And this dimension is the same thing, just on a larger scale. Elias said, that we hold all the beliefs already, they existed from the onset and that we don't create new one or eliminate old ones, but instead just activate different ones.
So in a way, this whole set of beliefs to choose from defines the dimension. We probably can't choose beliefs outside this set, although the set is definitely much vaster than we think, so there's really no shortage on variatey.
